Which perfume suits you Best?

Your bottle of perfume got 5 ml of perfumes and it is time to visit a store to buy a good perfume which suits you better during this cold season. What would be your first question to buy the perfume?  Will you go to the store and ask right away for the perfume your colleague was wearing to office, or your friend was wearing to the Thanksgiving dinner, or the perfume your cousin wore to the tea party at your place? Or will you go and ask for the perfume which is well known among your instagram followers, or tweeps or Facebook friends?

What do you think is the best to buy a perfume for YOU!!! YOU are the one who is going to wear the perfume and it is going to describe YOU. So here are some few guidelines for you when you go buy a bottle of perfume next time. 

The following are the MAIN Fragrance categories I can come up with. Any more suggestions are most welcomed. 

1. Floral in this category of scents, the notes are very sweet and very floral like it’s coming out of a flower bouquet or a single flower.. For this floral scents flowers are used. Most common are Rose, Gardenia, Lily of the Valley carnation, lavender, peonies or any other flower. In rare cases sweet pea or tobacco blossom notes are used. These notes are perfect for a daytime perfume but it depends on the person who wears it. 
2. Citrus it has got bright, light, clean, fresh and invigorating notes mostly coming out of citrus fruits like orange, lemon, Bergamot, Yusuf, blood orange, kumquat. These are also great for daytime but can be used for an evening too.
3. Oriental :- if you want to feel sexy, mysterious, musky, deep, dark and voluptuous these are the scents perfect for you. This gives Fresh and almost animalic smell. The notes for these scents are coming out mostly from Patchouli, vanilla, cloves, incense, musk, amber, leather, orchid. These scents are perfect for a date night and evenings.
4. Woody :- are you the kind of a person who wants to smell masculine, earthy and have a very intense smell coming from the scented woods? If so this is the best and it’s  perfect to wear during day and evenings. One of the most common notes used in these scents are cedar, oak moss, vetiver, spruce, eucalyptus, plum.
5. Green do you love the smell of earth, the freshness after rain, the green, dewy, leafy smell? Then this scents will do perfect for you and notes are from Green tea, sage, cactus, tobacco, juniper, leaves.
6. Fruity do you want to smell like a sweet edible fruit? Most common notes are from apple, pear, berries, pomegranates, persimmon. 
7. Spicy (Aromatics) if you love to have a spicy fresh smell 😜 this will do great. Mainly it comes from cinnamon, pepper, coffee, seasame, primento.
8. Sweet (Gourmands) this is an interesting scent. Here you got the sweet smell from sugar, honey, caramel, chocolate, maple syrup, cupcakes. Do you want to smell like a cupcake or chocolate? This will do great! 
9. Animalics caviar, civet, booze, leather, musk, Amber will give beautiful dry and smooth soft notes to go feel sexy, mysterious, dark, masculine and animalic smell. 
10. Aquatics watery, sandy, salty, seaweed fresh notes will give you smell of water and sort of marine, but yet clean and vibrant.

As now you know the scent categories, you need to know THREE VERY IMPORTANT things about the Fragrance Notes. 

There are three main fragrance notes in any perfume. They are:-

1. TOP NOTES:-  The very first smell you get when you spray any perfume is the Top note of that perfume. Usually the top notes won’t last longer, it will be there for about 5-10 minutes. After that the perfume settles to the Middle Notes.
2. MIDDLE NOTES:- As the top notes disappear, it settles to the Middle notes which lasts definitely longer than the Top Notes. Look for the notes that you want to feel and smell like. 
3. BASE NOTES:- These notes appear after 20-30 minutes of spraying and they are the deepest and the depth OF any fragrance. Make sure the base note is made of the notes you love. 

Test, test and test your perfume before you buy. SPRAY it on your wrists and check for yourself. Make sure it blends well with your skin and it has got the notes YOU LOVE. You are the one who is going to wear the perfume and you must love your perfume and you should be confident in your perfume.
